To empower underserved children and families by improving access to education, healthcare, and essential support, beginning with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Current Focus: Supporting Children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
Working with trusted partner organizations in India, Disha Jyoti supports 160 children through special education, therapy, nutritious meals, and daily care. Beyond education and therapies, children participate in social, recreational, and community activities that encourage interaction, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Best New Life Shelter
Disha Jyoti provides substantial support for 40 children at Best New Life Shelter, a day development center in Arcot, helping provide education, nutritious meals, therapies, transportation, and other essential services. Children are picked up from their homes and returned home at the end of the day.
Sri Arunodayam
Disha Jyoti supports special education, physiotherapy, and speech therapy programs benefiting 120 children at Sri Arunodayam in Chennai. These children have been abandoned across Tamil Nadu and other parts of India and now live at Sri Arunodayam, where they receive residential care.

Special Education
Our special education program is thoughtfully built around each child’s unique strengths, challenges, and pace of learning. We create customized activities and learning goals that focus on what every child can do—empowering them with skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Nutritious Meals
By providing balanced, nutritious meals each day, we help children stay energized and focused—enabling them to engage fully in therapy, learning, and social activities. It’s a vital step toward nurturing stronger, healthier, and more confident futures.
Our Comprehensive Therapy Program supports children with intellectual and developmental disabilities by helping them build physical abilities, communication, cognitive skills, independence, and overall well-being. Trained professionals provide personalized sessions—including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy—tailored to each child's individual needs.
